Introduction

Brushed DC (BDC) motors remain widely used in automotive and industrial systems thanks to their simplicity, low cost, and reliability. Unlike brushless motors, BDC motor control does not require complex commutation. Instead, it relies on adjusting DC voltage/current magnitude and current direction to regulate speed, direction, and torque.

MOSFET-Based Control Logic

Baoquan Zhijie’s brushed motor control solutions utilize MOSFET power devices as the core switching components:

  • Speed Control (PWM with MOSFETs)
    Adjusting the average voltage via Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) enables efficient and precise speed regulation.

  • Direction Control (MOSFET H-Bridge)
    By switching current direction through an H-Bridge MOSFET circuit, the motor can easily perform forward and reverse rotation.

  • Torque Control (MOSFET + Feedback Circuit)
    Using current sampling feedback, MOSFET drivers dynamically adjust current flow to maintain stable torque and prevent overload.
